---HOW ITS MADE---

These practical shelves are ideal for any room in the house.

The metal brackets are formed into the required shape and welded to reinforce the joints giving a great industrial feel to them

The shelves are solid oak and smoothly planed on one side, the other side is lightly sanded and sprayed in an industrial black spray paint.

This gives a great finish and adds a unique feature to the shelves.

Please note, every item is handmade to order, processing time is currently around 2-3 weeks, however, if you need the item by a certain date then let me know. Once item has been despatched then delivery should be within 2-3 days.

---HOW TO MEASURE---

Our shelves are available in 50,60,70,80,90 or 100cm widths. The depth of the Oak is roughly 21cm, this can change slightly due to the planing process.

---CHOOSING A WOODEN TOP---

All tops can be finished in either Oak Stain, Dark Oak Stain or Charred Effect.

Options Available,

Oak/Oak - Hardwood Oak finished in Oak stain.

Oak/Dark Oak - Hardwood Oak finished in Dark Oak stain.

Oak/Charred - Hardwood Oak finished in a burnt/charred effect.

---WOOD FINISHES---

Oak Stain which brings out the grain and leaves the wood in a more natural colour. 

Jacobean Dark Oak stain which adds a lovely dark colour whilst still bringing out the grain adding a rustic feel to the wood.

Charred effect is where I blowtorch the wood to give it a very dark burnt appearance. I burn the wood just enough to still keep the grain visible. Charring is a great process for finishing wood as it acts as a natural seal.

---WHO WE ARE---

OakandSteel was created with literally a piece of Oak and Steel and brought together with a love of industrial design.

Since 2021, our small family business has grown and developed and now offers a variety of beautiful, handmade and practical pieces for furniture for the home.

OakandSteel consists of Jim (me) spending my days in the workshop making and coming up with new designs and Sam (the wife) coming up with some great photography ideas to best showcase our makes.

---SUSTAINABILITY---

OakandSteel feel very strongly about the environment and helping the current climate crisis.

For every Oak board we use in the OakandSteel workshop we are funding the planting of 25 trees through our partnership with Ecologi.

---POSTAGE AND DELIVERY---

I always try to recycle packaging as much as I can and try to reuse boxes as much as possible.

Every item is carefully wrapped using bubble wrap, corner supports are then used if necessary and then boxed up ready to go.

I use a variety of different delivery companies dependent on the size of the item that is ordered and always aim to supply you with a tracking number so you can keep an eye on where your order is.
